RIA
is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to enhancing the performing
arts in the Reston-Herndon community. RIA offers several
community outreach programs in the Reston area and conducts an
expanding dance program for the entire community.

RIA
provides a variety of performances throughout the year presented by
the performing arts students and the highly - acclaimed RIA Dance
Companies - the Reston Youth Dancers (Junior Dance Company) and the
Reston Jazz Ensemble (RIA Dance Company). Selected events and
activities are partially funded by the Arts Council of Fairfax, LINKS,
Inc., TRW, Jack and Jill of America, Inc., WJLA-Channel 7,
Baltimore Masons and IBM Foundation.

Most
performances and classes are held at the Reston
Community Center. Classes are also held at the Reston
Community Players Rehearsal Hall
in Herndon. Members of the Institute also perform at the
Fairfax County Government Center several times a year as part of the
"Arts Showcases" Program.

Reston
Institute for the Arts sets itself apart from other performing arts
organizations by being a non-profit organization and with
programs developed to reach out to everyone in all segments of the
population.
